Voting for the 2007 Black Belt Hall of Fame is closed and the results have been tallied!
The results can be seen and the winners' profiles read in the upcoming December 2007 issue of Black Belt, which hits newsstands October 23, 2007.
2nd Annual Black Belt Industry Awards
Phase 2 of the electoral process will be multiple-choice voting in which you pick your favorites from a list of finalists.
Eleven prestigious awards will be distributed for the following categories:

Best School Overall—for a school that teaches any martial art or combination of arts (for example, a tai chi chuan studio or a gym that mixes taekwondo with Brazilian jujutsu)

Best Traditional School—for a school devoted to a single style (for example, a shotokan dojo or a wing chun kung fu club)

Best Eclectic School—for a facility that focuses on the mixed martial arts, submission grappling, kickboxing, reality-based martial arts and so on

Best Women’s Program—for a program, taught at a dojo, school, club, YMCA or any similar organization, that serves the self-defense needs of women

Best Children’s Program—for a program, taught anywhere, that serves the self-defense needs of kids

Best Tournament—for a traditional martial arts tournament or sport-karate competition

Best Humanitarian Act/Event—for a martial arts event organized to help the underprivileged or a post-tournament donation to charity

Best Televised Production—for a martial arts event shown on television (for example, pay-per-view shows such as the Ultimate Fighting Championship, PRIDE or K-1; a reality series such as The Ultimate Fighter on Spike TV; or a documentary such as Fight Science on the National Geographic Channel)

Best Martial Arts Service Provider—for your favorite billing company, insurance company, business consultant and so on

Best New Product—for your favorite piece of martial arts gear or clothing released within the past 12 months

Best Seminar/Training Camp—for the best instructional event held within the past 12 months (for example, a George Dillman pressure-point seminar or the Paradise Warrior Retreat training camp)
